A Coordinated View
Connect the company return with the owner’s plans
Corporate tax decisions can affect the owner and family. Our CPA team considers the business facts alongside personal income, investment activity, cash requirements and future plans.
For the owner’s personal return and related planning, see our Personal Tax & Planning service.
For broader family matters, explore our High-Net-Worth & Family Tax Advisory. For an introduction to the planning issues, read our Canadian tax-planning guide.
Start with the decision, records and deadline.
A current-year return, a planning review and a prior-year correction may need different work. We clarify what is required and who is responsible for each step.
If filings are overdue, see our Past Personal & Corporate Tax Returns service. If operations connect Canada and the UAE, see our Canada–UAE advisory service.
How We Work
A clear process from enquiry to agreed work
Understand the situation
Discuss the company, year-end, filing position, available records and the decision or deadline prompting your enquiry.
Agree scope and fees
Confirm the deliverables, records needed, responsibilities and timing in a written engagement before starting.
Prepare, review and explain
Complete the agreed work, discuss material findings and identify practical follow-up items for the company and its owners.
Common Questions
Before you enquire
Can you handle both our corporate and personal returns?
Yes. We can scope the company and owner returns together so relevant information is coordinated. Trusts, related companies, prior years and foreign reporting are assessed separately where needed.
Can we keep our existing bookkeeper?
Yes. We can work with your bookkeeper or internal finance team and agree the records, reconciliations and responsibilities needed for the engagement. Any clean-up or reconstruction work is scoped explicitly.
Can we start with a planning review?
Yes. Tell us the decision you are considering, the entities involved and the expected timing. We assess the information needed and propose a review scope; implementation and legal documentation may require separate work.
What should we include in an initial enquiry?
Include a brief description of the business, its province, number of companies, fiscal year-end, years to be filed and any immediate deadline. Mention whether you need compliance, planning or both. Keep the initial message high level; sensitive records can be requested through an agreed secure channel.
Discuss your company’s tax and planning needs
Tell our CPA team where the company stands today and what you want to address next. We will assess fit, scope and the practical next step.
Service information is general. Advice, filings and implementation depend on the facts and the agreed engagement. See the CRA’s corporation income tax return guidance for official filing information.
